MOKO
MOKO is Loop Mobile’s world-leading, 3G mobile social networking product – paving the way for instant mobile chat, media sharing and youth culture entertainment across a global platform.
MOKO is available in Australia and the UK on 3 Mobile. Further expansion in the existing markets, North America, and various European and Asian territories is planned for 2007.
With MOKO, we have helped the phenomenon of social networking and user generated content take a radical leap away from static computer screens and into the pockets of young adults. The dream of mobile networking, where you can meet, chat instantly and share multimedia content with new people across the world is now a reality. For this reason, MOKO was the winner of the 2006 ‘Australian Interactive Media Industry Association’ award for Best Wireless / Mobile Product.
Product Partnerships
As well as operating its own branded mobile social network, Loop also seeks to provide its social networking platform to owners of major brands and related media owners who wish to build interactive “mobile communities” around their brands or media assets.
Telstra Sport (AFL, NRL, V8 Supercars)
Loop launched the first phase of such a “mobile community” in February 2007 for Telstra. Known as “ChatZone” , the service provides Telstra’s mobile sport fans with instant chat and media-sharing features based on Telstra’s exclusive AFL, NRL and V8 Supercars sport properties. Telstra’s “ChatZones” are available on “NextG”, Telstra’s 3G mobile network.
'Big Brother' ('BB7' Community)
Loop has also been chosen to deliver the official Australian 'Big Brother 7' mobile social network for 3 Mobile. 'BB7' community users will be able to chat instantly with other 'BB7' fans, comment on the Housemates, enter weekly competitions and share their experiences of the TV program via media they create.
'ITV'
In a competitive tender process, Loop was selected to design, build and manage a mobile community focusing on their hit TV shows and that serviced its existing mobile portal.
The new community will be launched initially to support The X-Factor and then progressively adding various other shows in the iTV stable. It will also have many of the key user-generated and interactive elements that Loop specialises in, such as user profile pages, MMS upload and person to person private messaging.
'Griffin'
Developed exclusively by Loop Mobile, 'Griffin' is a unique solution for real time content management across a variety of products. Incorporating peerless CMS and customer care functions, together with cutting-edge multimedia moderation, editorial control, statistical reporting and more, 'Griffin' provides a one-stop-shop for the administration of user-generated content in the mobile space.
Loop identified that, in order fully to exploit all the capabilities of its content management systems, it needed a tool that would enable several levels of secure access to the various CMS depending on the specific task required - all via a user-friendly web interface.
Given that effective moderation is a critical requirement of mobile carriers and government regulation, a sophisticated moderation management tool that conforms to required guidelines is essential. Loop’s 'Griffin' based moderation system is second to none.
Moderation of User Activity and Content
Moderation is an important part of Loop’s business model. Every comment, picture and video is monitored and pre-approved via software language filters or by human moderators, or both. This provides a safe environment for all users. Loop moderates the visual content submitted by users of MOKO to a standard equivalent to PG under the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification guidelines.
The Australian Communications and Media Authority has recently published its “Guide to the Implementation of Safety Measures for Mobile Chat Services”, and Loop exceeds these recommendations by providing 24/7 monitored moderation by trained staff for all Loop products.
Loop staff attend specialist training and are certified by the Office of Film and Literature Classification to be able to regulate visual content. Loop management involved with moderation also undergo an Australian Federal Police Clearance certification.
In the UK, Loop has developed a Moderation Policy and Procedures document in conjunction with 3 Mobile UK to ensure that it meets and exceeds all standards as proposed by the Independent Mobile Classification Body (IMCB); the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC); and the Bristish Home Office’s “Good Practice Guidance for the Moderation of Interactive Services for Children”.
Loop also has a strict procedure of fault logging and escalation of problem users or content and, by using its proprietary 'Griffin' platform, can provide a complete history of any user’s activity to assist with investigations by authorities.
